Sectoral training funds in Europe, a new Cedefop publication now available online, explores the various types of funds that have been set up across Europe, and examines their advantages and drawbacks.
Taking their inspiration from the Copenhagen Declarations call for closer partnerships in training, sectoral training funds are managed by employers and employees and financed by training levies or taxes.

Sectoral funds are intended to mobilise additional resources for continuing training and to target the needs of specific sectors.

Cedefop is organising a seminar on 25-26 September 2008 (by invitation only) to discuss how sectoral training funds can improve both the quality and quantity of training, and how to increase the participation of small and medium enterprises in these funds.
