Skillman is a worldwide network addressed to introduce skills, competences and innovative curricula for the advanced manufacturing sector within the VET pathways. The Skillman EU International Forum 2020 organised by Cedefop's VET toolkit Ambassador Giovanni Crisona will take place on the 10 and 11 of December 2020 online.

Skillman.eu Network launches the 6th edition of the yearly SIF – Skillman.eu International Forum 2020 on redefining the future of learning, which will take place on December the 10th and 11th, 2020 as an online event.

The primary goal of the conference is to encourage the adoption of systematic approaches to skills anticipation/foresight: in a need to join forces to promote an approach to curriculum design based on skills foresight analysis and which must involve, through a multi-channel engagement plan, all the actors and stakeholders that are also involved into the regional smart specialisation platforms.

In a dedicated pavilion, scheduled for 11th December 2020 11:15-12:15CET Cedefop expert Irene Psifidou, and her team, Ioannis Katsikis, Cedefop expert, and Alexandra Farazouli, Cedefop trainee will present the VET toolkit for tackling early leaving from education and training launched in 2017 and updated in 2019 to support policy makers and VET practitioners. This innovative and evidence-based toolkit includes resources based on Cedefop comparative research and analytical work and provides tailored intervention approaches; tools, good practices and quick wins, reflection and evaluation tools for policy makers and VET providers. Users may also find rich bibliographical resources, statistics and data on this topic.

Special focus will be given on the reflection tool for VET providers. This interactive tool aimed to support VET providers proposes concrete steps to help users understand the current patterns of early leaving, analyse their institutional approach to tackle this phenomenon; identify strengths and weaknesses of their approach; and define actions to address them. The tool is designed for VET school heads and other staff responsible for coordinating actions to prevent early leaving in schools or companies providing work-based learning. However, it may also be of interest to local authorities and civil society organisations cooperating with VET providers, to increase their understanding of VET measures to tackle early leaving.

Finally, the team will present the community of Ambassadors for tackling early leaving which was established in 2017 and includes policy makers, learning providers, experts and other key stakeholders. These ambassadors involve in tackling early leaving from VET at a national, regional or local level across Europe.
