CareersNet, Cedefop’s network of independent national experts in lifelong guidance and career development, convened in Stockholm for a half day on 1 June 2023. It was the first onsite meeting for the network since the third annual meeting in Rome in 2019.
The annual meeting was hosted by the Swedish Council for Higher Education, the Swedish National Agency for Education, and the Swedish Public Employment Service, during the Swedish EU Presidency. The network meeting was held at the venue of the joint conference New Scenes for Career Guidance. Cedefop was contributing to the conference as part of its organising committee, which was also supported by Euroguidance Sweden and the Swedish Association of Guidance Counsellors association and several other organisations in Sweden.
CareersNet core experts met to discuss ongoing activities related to proposing updates on the EU Guidelines for systems and policies for lifelong guidance, an ongoing activity expected to run until 2025. Mutual exchange of experiences in what regards current national developments in national guidance systems was also discussed, as well as latest developments in the network and since the last annual meeting online in 2022.
