France has a long tradition in vocational education and training (VET). Initial VET is mainly regulated by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports and the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation.
The vocational training system reform (2018) restructured its governance, funding mechanisms, and apprenticeship provision to improve its attractiveness and responsiveness to the labour market.
