EU Work Plan for Youth

The Council has discussed the future EU Work Plan for Youth, on the basis of this Presidency background document. The following questions are addressed:

• What are the most critical challenges currently facing young people in your country? Which priorities for EU co-operation in the context of a forthcoming EU Work Plan for Youth could be identified to address these challenges?
• How could the Work Plan for Youth contribute to the improvement of cross-sectoral cooperation and to strengthen the role of youth policy?

This plan should be capable of responding quickly to developments affecting youth and should also adapt the aims of youth policy to the targets of the EU 2020 Strategy. Cross-sectoral cooperation should be  strengthened and implemented on all levels.
