Numerical and material recording clerks
People employed in this occupation are engaged in compiling accounts and financial data, bookkeeping, and, taking charge of cash transactions related to business matters, keeping records of goods produced, purchased, stocked and dispatched, etc. They usually need to have completed the first-stage of secondary education but in some instances they will need to have completed the second-stage of secondary education, perhaps by undertaking specialised vocational education and training.
The tasks performed by people in this occupation include: helping with accounting and bookkeeping records; calculating wages and in some cases preparing wage packets and paying wages; obtaining, compiling and computing statistical or actuarial data; performing clerical tasks relating to the financial transactions of an insurance establishment, bank or similar establishment; etc. The types of jobs people undertake includes: payroll clerks, accounting and bookkeeping clerks, and mortgage clerks amongst others.
