’Your first EURES job’ is a preparatory action under the EU budget (2011-13) to help young Europeans aged 18 to 30 find work in other EU Member States and assist employers in filling bottleneck vacancies caused by domestic market failure. It is one of the actions in the Europe 2020 flagship initiative ‘Youth on the move’ and part of the ‘Youth opportunities initiative’.

The Spanish public employment service proposal, through EURES Spain, was one of the projects selected by the European Commission together with Denmark, Germany and Italy. EURES advisers interested in exploring the possibility to cooperate with the current ‘Your first EURES job’ employment services are invited to contact these.

As for EURES members who have no pre-established form of partnership or cooperation, the ‘Your first EURES job’ employment services may decide to work with them and accept job vacancies or job applicants’ CVs, depending on their recruitment needs and possibilities. Cooperation opportunities and modalities will be defined on a case-by-case basis by each ’Your first EURES job’ employment service.

Beneficiaries of the action are young job-seekers and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). SMEs may ask for funding towards the costs of integration programmes for new young mobile workers they have hired, either specific vocational training, or training in the host country language. The contribution will depend on the country and number of workers hired. In Spain, financing is regulated by legislation (Royal Decree 1674/2012) .
