Along the lines of an explicit objective of the Copenhagen process to improving the scope, comparability and reliability of statistics on vocational education and training, in this publication some issues related to the use of indicators for monitoring the developments in vocational education and training in the European countries are discussed.

In the publication some aggregate measures are constructed based on data provided by Eurostat from the joint data collection on education (UOE), the Continuing Vocational Training Survey (CVTS) and the EU Labour Force Survey (LFS). These aggregate measures can be further use to monitoring the developments in vocational education and training across the European countries.
