In education and training, absence of discrimination concerning the access to resources and actions to all learners, regardless of individuals’ origin, background or specific needs.

Component of a qualification, consisting of a coherent set of knowledge, know-how, information, values, skills and competences, that can be assessed and validated, and can represent a module of certification.
- A unit of learning outcomes can be specific to a single qualification or common to several qualifications;
- the characteristics of units (content, size, total number of units composing a qualification, etc.) are defined by the competent body responsible for the qualification at the appropriate level. The definition and description of units can vary according to the qualifications system and procedures of the competent body.

- Eine Lernergebniseinheit kann sich auf eine oder mehrere Qualifikationen beziehen;
- die Merkmale von Lernergebniseinheiten (Inhalt, Größe, Gesamtzahl der Einheiten, die zusammen eine Qualifikation ergeben), werden von der für die Qualifikation auf der entsprechenden Ebene zuständigen Stelle definiert.

For a learner, disengagement from initial education or training – during or after compulsory school – without obtaining a qualification sufficient to progress in education or training or career.
Eurostat defines early leaver as an individual aged 18 to 24:
- whose highest level of education or training attained is, at most, lower secondary;
- who received no education or training in the four weeks preceding the Labour force survey;
- this term is close, but not synonymous with: dropout.

Für einen Lernenden, Rücktritt von der Erstausbildung – während oder nach der Schulpflicht – ohne eine ausreichende Qualifikation für das Fortkommen in Studium, Ausbildung oder Beruf erworben zu haben.
- Eurostat definiert einen Bildungs‑ oder Ausbildungsabbrecher als eine Person im Alter von 18 bis 24 Jahren:
- deren höchstes Bildungs- oder Ausbildungsniveau höchstens die Sekundarstufe I ist;
- die in den vier Wochen vor der Arbeitskräfteerhebung keine Bildung oder Ausbildung erhalten hat;
- dieser Begriff ist verwandt, aber nicht synonym mit: (Aus)bildungsabbruch / Schulabbruch.

Pour un(e) apprenant(e), abandon de l'enseignement ou de la formation initiaux – avant ou après la fin de l’enseignement obligatoire – sans obtenir une qualification suffisante pour progresser dans les études ou la formation, ou dans sa carrière professionnelle.
Eurostat définit un(e) sortant(e) précoce comme une personne âgée de 18 à 24 ans:
- dont le niveau maximal d’éducation ou de formation est le secondaire inférieur;
- qui n'a suivi aucune action d’enseignement ou de formation dans les quatre semaines précédant l’Enquête sur les forces de travail (EFT);
- ce terme est proche, mais non synonyme de: décrochage / décrochage scolaire.
