The Informal Meeting of Ministers for Employment and Social Policy will be attended by the Commissioner, representatives of other countries, the Presidents of the Employment Committee and the Social Protection Committee and a representative of the European Parliament.
It will inaugurate the Presidency in the areas of employment and social affairs. The discussion will concentrate on demographic challenges and will try to determine how the EU Member States understand these challenges and how to tackle them.
The meeting will initiate a debate which will subsequently be continued during thematic meetings and conferences. The ministerial meeting will be preceded by a meeting of the Trio with representatives of European social partners and the Social Platform.
