In October 2016, the Academic Information Centre – EQF national coordination point – launched a national qualifications database. It contains data on all qualifications at EQF levels 1-8 acquired in state-recognised formal education programmes.
Information on qualifications has been gathered from existing education registers, including tertiary education; knowledge, skills and competence descriptors are from occupational standards.
The database is linked to the learning opportunities and qualifications (EQF/PLOTEUS) portal. This portal contains Latvian qualifications in English that allows comparison across EU.
The database has been developed within the European Commission’s project European qualifications framework – national qualifications databases (No. 559123-EPP-1-2014-1-LV-EPPKA3-EQF-NCP, 2014-2016).
