This study was commissioned to support the statistical and analytical work in the area of teachers and trainers of the Education and Training 2010 Work Programme.
The objective, was to gain an insight into the mobility and replacement needs of teachers and trainers in Europe. In particular, the study aimed: to provide an analysis of the replacement needs of teachers and trainers in Europe for the period 2005-2015, identifying in which countries shortages or surpluses are expected; and to identify insights into the factors which influence the demand for and the supply of teachers and trainers, and their professional and geographical mobility.
