5th World Congress of Education International (EI)

Education International will be holding its 5th triennial World Congress. The World Congress meets every three years to adopt policies and approve programmes and financial and other reports. It elects the Officers and Executive Board for the following triennium. It also determines the dues rates. It provides an opportunity for representatives of member organisations from all over the world to meet and consider the major issues affecting their organisations.

Theme of the 5th Congress is "Educators - Joining Together for Quality Education and Social Justice". The programme includes a number of innovations from previous Congresses, including a full day devoted to breakout or working group sessions in order to provide enhanced opportunities for delegates to participate in discussions on the key issues. It also provides for an early closure of sessions on the third day to facilitate organizations arranging meetings of delegations and to facilitate delegates visiting the city
