The OECD and the European Commission have produced a 'Career Guidance Handbook for Policy Makers'. In simple, non-technical language, this publication addresses a broad range of policy issues that are central to the effective delivery of career guidance services. These include: how to widen access to career guidance; ways of improving the quality of career information; ensuring that staff qualifications meet policy objectives; and improving strategic leadership. This publication is targeted at all policy makers, especially those in education and labour, who are responsible for planning, managing and delivering career guidance services. It costs 24 Euros and you can browse it on-line before ordering at www.oecd.org/bookshop. Short overviews of the key points of the Handbook are available in several languages from the OECD web-site and from Cedefop's web-site via the links below.
