The quality of teaching at European universities is periodically assessed by quality assurance agencies, but who checks the quality of these agencies? The answer to this question is the European Quality Assurance Register in Higher Education (EQAR), which is officially launched in Brussels on 4 March 2008.

The Register will be operational by summer 2008, and is governed and co-funded by a non-profit association of stakeholders, social partners and governments.
