The ambitious new Lifelong Learning Programme, which brings together the Leonardo da Vinci, Socrates, Erasmus and eLearning programmes, will cover learning opportunities from childhood to old age.
In implementing the Lifelong Learning Programme, which will run from 2007 to 2013, the Commission shall secure the assistance of Cedefop in areas related to its competence.
The relevant legislation (Decision no. 1720/2006/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 15 November 2006 establishing an action programme in the field of lifelong learning) has now been published in the Official Journal (OJ L 327, 24 November) and will enter into force on December 14.
