Analitical report on the Efficiency and Equity in European Education and Training Systems

The aim of this analytical report is to provide an economic and social analysis of efficiency and equity in European education and training systems, based on a review of the relevant scientific literature.

Section 1 gives a brief introduction on the contribution of economic and social sciences of education to the topic. Section 2 surveys the evidence on economic and social impact of education and training. Section 3 provides a detailed analysis of efficiency and equity aspects of education and training systems in Europe, focusing on complementarities and trade-offs between efficiency and equity over the life cycle.
