EU25 population aged 65 and over expected to double between 1995 and 2050

The International Day of Older Persons, organised by the United Nations, will take place, as every year, on 1 October.

In conjunction with this event, Eurostat is publishing statistics on the population aged over 65, which highlight some of their demographic, economic and social particularities compared to the total population.
