The Minerva action, named after the Roman goddess of wisdom, aims to promote European cooperation in the use of information and communication technologies in education. It is part of the EUs wide-ranging education and training programme, Socrates. The European Commission announced today that it has earmarked 6 million to support 27 new European cooperation projects starting in 2005. The projects will run between two and three years and will help ensure that new teaching technologies are exploited more effectively in a wide range of subjects, including languages, business studies and mathematics.
