On 1 October 2007, Cedefop holds an annual meeting of the study visits programme for those responsible for vocational education and training. The national liaison officers and representatives of the technical support agencies will take part in this meeting that will close the former Leonardo da Vinci II study visits programme.
The participants will review the experience of the Community study visits programme, assess its activities in 2006 and first half of 2007 and will discuss the future of the study visits programme.
Study visits are now part of the Lifelong Learning Programme 2007-13 that was adopted by the European Parliament and the Council on 5 November 2006 (Decision 1720/2006/EC, OJ L 327, 24.11.2006.). As from 1 January 2008, Cedefop will, on behalf of the European Commission, coordinate the study visits for education and vocational training specialists at the European level.
Cedefop expresses gratitude to its partners for fruitful cooperation. The success of the programme has been achieved through their hard work and commitment throughout the 22 years of the programme.
