Conference documents, observations from international experts and summaries of discussions from the second policy learning forum on learning outcomes on learning outcomes for vocational education and training (VET) qualifications on 13 and 14 October 2016, have just been published.

National and sectoral experts directly involved in writing learning outcomes for VET qualifications, along with international experts and researchers from 28 countries, shared the practitioner’s perspective, their experiences, and explored the way forward. Participating countries were in favour of creating a permanent network on learning outcomes to bring practitioners together and ensure continuity and stability in learning-outcomes-related work.

A first draft of Cedefop's new ‘Handbook on writing learning outcomes’ presented to forum participants, was considered a useful tool for cooperation among European countries, adding value to what is already happening at national level. The handbook includes a link to an extensive collection of national and sectoral examples and cases, allowing stakeholders to compare specific approaches applied across (and beyond) Europe.

Building on outcomes of the first policy learning forum, the event was was organised by Cedefop as part of the European vocational skills week.
