A Cedefop workshop in Lisbon, Portugal, 20-21 November 2006.
Skillsnet, Cedefops international network on the early identification of skills needs, is organising a workshop at the premises of the Portuguese Farmers Confederation in Lisbon on the agri-food and forestry sectors. The goal of the workshop is to identify the future skill needs in the food and nutrition sectors and in the forestry and woodworking sector.

These sectors employ over 6 million people in the EU. A particular focus is on new skill needs that are emerging because of the increasing links with other sectors, such as manufacturing and services.

Sectoral organisations are operating more and more in networks and chains. In addition, trends like technological innovation, health regulations, risk and hazard management, and climate change all influence the present and future tasks of the workers involved.
