On 14 February 2011, the Academic Information Centre organises a conference entitled "Referencing the Latvian education system to the European Qualifications Framework", in Riga, Latvia. The Academic Information Centre acts as the National Coordination Point for referencing the National Qualifications Framework to the European Qualifications Framework.

This conference aims to present the experience of other countries, i.e. Ireland, Estonia and Finland, on referencing the National Qualifications Frameworks to the European Qualifications Framework (EQF), as well as to provide information on challenges and possible solutions related to the referencing of the Latvian education system to EQF.
The target group for this event is ministries, state agencies, education governing boards, educational institutions, members of employers’ organisations, trade unions, as well as other organisations and individual stakeholders involved in education issues.
The conference is organised in the framework of the European Commission project EAC-2010-0131 “Activities of EQF National Coordination Points with a view to implement the EQF at national level”.
