6th European Round Table on Poverty and Exclusion

This wide-ranging forum provides a meeting point where national and local public authorities, NGOs and academics can deepen the work done at round tables in previous years. The cornerstone will be the importance of minimum social standards as a key tool for strategies to fight against poverty and exclusion which, in different countries, are built on the twin pillars of protection and empowerment.

In the framework of the debate on active inclusion, minimum social standards will be analyzed as a horizontal link between the different dimensions of strategies for combating poverty. They ensure basic levels of citizenship and a ground on which to build new opportunities for individuals. Issues such as severe poverty and the specific challenges that exclusion and poverty pose in different contexts will be approached from this integrated standpoint.
