OECD's Education at a Glance 2005

People face growing pressures to go on developing skills and knowledge over their working life-time as job mobility increases and job tasks become more complex. But the availability and quality of education and training vary sharply from one country to another. Which countries are doing well, and which countries could be performing better? How will today's education policies influence tomorrows economy?

These are some of the questions to be addressed in the 2005 edition of the OECD's annual Education at a Glance, a widely-quoted compendium of comparative statistics that provide the basis for policy debate and decisions in the world's most developed countries. This year's edition was published on Tuesday 13 September 2005.
