Online job advertisement analysis can add to our understanding of skill needs and trends. This workshop was about opportunities and challenges of using online job ads for labour market and skills intelligence. It also showcased practical examples based on Cedefop’s skills OVATE real-time LMSI system.

Nikos Askitas

Nikos Askitas is Coordinator of Data and Technology at the IZA - Institute of Labor Economics where he works as a mathematician, data scientist and economist.  

Vladimir Kvetan

Vladimir Kvetan works as an expert at the European Centre for the Development of Vocational Training (Cedefop) since 2010. He leads Cedefop's works on developing a system for gathering and analysing data from online job advertisements. He also participates in the various labour market and skills intelligence activities of the Centre.

Joan McNaboe

Joan McNaboe is the research manager in the Skills & Labour Market Research Unit (SLMRU) in SOLAS (Ireland’s Further Education & Training Authority).  

Fernando Reis

Fernando Reis is an official statistician at Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union, specialised on big data. His duties include the development and harmonisation of international statistics which are relevant for policy making and for the citizens
