The European Commission, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Children and Youth, Luxembourg was organising this peer learning activity (PLA) in March 2016 with the purpose to examine and exchange how qualifications frameworks can support the recognition of qualifications.

The PLA looked at the Directive 2005/36/EC on the recognition of professional qualifications, at the Lisbon Recognition Convention, and at national recognition laws and practices, and how these interact with NQFs.

A key question was how synergies can be created between recognition arrangements and qualifcations frameworks. Country cases allowed for insights in practice.
