Joint Report on Social Protection and Social Inclusion 2008

This supporting document complements the 2008 Joint Report on Social Protection and Social Inclusion (Commission proposal: COM(2008)48) with a more detailed account of the work carried out in the framework of the Open Method of Coordination (OMC) on Social Protection and Social Inclusion in 2007.

This was the first year of the OMC without full reporting since the three strands social inclusion, pensions and health care/long term care were brought together into one process in 2006 under the common objectives1adopted by the European Council.
