The first online meeting of the European Vocational Education and Training Teachers Survey (EVTS) Stakeholder Group took place on 13 May 2024.
To support the EVTS planning and implementation, Cedefop took the initiative to set up the EVTS Stakeholder Group comprised of around 100 members representing: Cedefop project team members; the contracted research team Verian; the Commission’s Directorate General for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion (DG EMPL); relevant Ministries from the participating countries (ministries of education and labour market); as well as, European and national members of the European Trade Union Committee for Education (ETUCE), and the European Federation of Education Employers (EFEE).
The EVTS Stakeholders Group is established to provide guidance, support the EVTS campaign and implementation, and facilitate the dissemination of the EVTS findings across the participating Member States.
The meeting was focused on the EVTS Stakeholder Group mandate, access to registries and other data on initial Vocational education and training (IVET) schools, and endorsement of the survey by the respective ministries.
The meeting concluded with the approval of the mandate and the commitment of 23 European Member States to support and carry out the EVTS in their country. The European Social partners pointed to the importance of such a novel survey to address research gaps and empower the working conditions, qualifications and wellbeing of teachers in Europe.
