The Erasmus Programme stands out as one of the most concrete and popular examples of the progress achieved during fifty years of European integration. It has been a driver for change in European higher education.

The Swedish National Agency for the Lifelong Learning Programme "Internationella Programkontoret" in cooperation with the Directorate-General for Education and Culture of the European Commission will organise a conference under Swedish Presidency on the Erasmus programme in Lund on 5th and 6th October 2009.

Topics will be the Green Paper on mobility of young people, the follow up on the Council conclusions on mobility under French Presidency, improvement of quality, future of Erasmus beyond 2013, under the umbrella of the Swedish presidency theme of "jobs, growth and competitiveness".
