Cedefop presented new evidence on the demand for artificial intelligence (AI) skills, as revealed in the job vacancies of EU employers, and its research on automation risk and the responsiveness of vocational education and training (VET) systems to the future of work challenges, at an international conference on AI and education in Beijing on 16 to 18 May.

Cedefop has released new insights on skills and jobs in seven European countries. After several years of development, the agency presents first results of this new type of labour market intelligence, based on information from more than 30 million online job vacancies collected in the second half of 2018 in Czechia, Germany, Spain, France, Ireland, Italy and the UK.
Cedefop has launched a series of country reports summarising the key findings of the 2018 skills forecast, which presents future trends on jobs and skills across EU Member States. The forecast’s new round covers the period up to 2030.

The new Cedefop database ‘Matching skills: Inspiring policies for anticipating and matching skill needs’ presents education and training and labour market policy instruments in EU Member States that aim to match individuals’ skills (jobseekers and students) to current and anticipated labour market needs.
Cedefop and Eurofound’s joint report on the skills forecast has been released. Cedefop’s skill supply and demand projections provide comprehensive information about the structure of Europe’s labour market and potential future trends. The report presents the findings from the most recently updated projections along with Eurofound’s analysis on the task content of employment, using the jobs monitor approach.
