In September 2020, the National Centre for Technical VET Development (NCTVETD), under the coordination of the Ministry of Education and Research, published Methodological benchmarks for strengthening teaching and learning in initial VET as a support guide for VET teachers in the new school year 2020/21.

The document brings to the attention of teachers a snapshot of the Covid-19 outbreak challenges for the teaching process due to the shift from face-to-face teaching to online teaching. It also offers a rich collection of examples and detailed suggestions on how to tackle these challenges.

Initial VET teaching is based on professional training standards that include a modular, learning outcomes approach. The benchmarks guide teachers on how to help learners acquire competences that were insufficiently covered due to the pandemic outbreak. The document includes examples of teaching content, assessment worksheets and links to support videos.

The Methodological benchmarks for strengthening teaching and learning in initial VET was elaborated under the methodological coordination of the NCTVETD. VET teachers who experienced pandemic-related challenges in teaching supported the development of the document by providing analyses and examples of challenges and solutions.

The document was made available at the beginning of September 2020 to support teachers in the new school year and is available here and here.
