Youth unemployment in Europe has been rising at a worrying rate. As a result, measures to help young people move between education and training and the labour market have acquired urgency. In this context, Cedefop invited some 40 European and national decision-makers researchers and guidance professionals to a peer-learning event, Guiding at-risk youth from learning to work (Thessaloniki, 26-27 November).

The meetings objective is to discuss measures taken across the EU and European Economic Area to prevent vulnerable young people from dropping out of education and training, and to provide them with the information, guidance and counselling they need to join the labour market.

These initiatives are included in an upcoming Cedefop study on Guidance for youth: education to work transitions (working title).
