Qualification frameworks, validation systems and related developments have raised the issue of how education and training can be linked. For instance, what should be the connection between credit systems for vocational training, on the one hand, and for higher education, on the other? To explore this and other related questions, on 28-29 May Cedefop is holding a workshop on transition and permeability in education and training, in cooperation with the Commission’s Directorate-General for Education and Culture
As the workshop is the first of its kind in terms of participation and issues, it will be open to several angles: not just links between credit systems, but whether there are other ways of ensuring permeability; not just mechanisms of admitting young people and adults to higher or vocational education, respectively, but the meaning of open access to higher education or training.
