EU has declared 2009 the EYCI as a way of meeting challenges by raising public awareness and disseminating best practice, sharing experiences in education and research.
The objective is to promote tools for personal development, strengthening competitiveness and sustainable development. The EYCI is being implemented in a cross-sectoral approach.
The International Programme Office for Education and Training is arranging the closing conference in cooperation with the Swedish Government Offices, the Knowledge Foundation, the National Agencies for Education, National Agency for Higher Education, Innovation Systems, Economic and Regional Growth, the National Board for Youth Affairs and The Arts Council.
