At its plenary meeting in June 2009, and after careful consideration and weighing available evidence, Cedefop’s Governing Board decided to cease publication of the European journal of vocational training (EJVT) from 2010 onwards.

In its plenary meeting in June 2009, and after careful consideration and weighing available evidence, Cedefop’s Governing Board decided to cease publication of the European journal of vocational training (EJVT) from 2010 onwards.

The reasons for this decision were in no way related to the quality and value of the EJVT but rather to the need for Cedefop to allocate its ever decreasing resources to a limited number of core activities.

However, Cedefop’s activities to support and encourage European and national vocational education and training (VET) research will not stop. Cedefop will continue to publish regular reports on European VET research, analyse national research to produce European reviews on key research and policy issues, and develop research projects to promote evidence based VET and skills policies in Europe. This allows Cedefop to create innovative knowledge on VET and skills and provide an evidence base that will enable policy makers to make informed decisions. The last issue of the EJVT will be No 48 (III/2009), containing a thematic dossier on the assessment, recognition and certification of informal and non formal learning as well as three articles on other subjects.

All issues of the EJVT remain available for downloading in our bookshop.
