E2O Certification Process (“Proceso de acreditación E2O”)
Evaluation of the schools with respect to the 5 fundamental principles of an E2O in Spain (I. Recognition of the local and regional administration, II. Promotion of the lasting professional and social integration of unemployed young people who are outside the educational system, III. Development of professional and social skills, IV. Collaboration with the business sector, V. Networking). An independent entity is in charge of the certification that includes 28 indicators. More information
Exchange of Good Practices (MyE2O)
The Association developed an online platform to exchange good practices among Second Chance Schools of Spain, France and Portugal and to share with the education community (www.mye2o.org). As of now, more than 45 good practices are available to promote a more inclusive education. More information
E2O National Events
Each year, the Association organizes a National Encounter of Second Chance Schools in order to promote the E2O model and reinforce cooperation among all players involved. Young people have a key role in these events. The 2019 edition took place in Madrid with more than 500 participants and an opening speech of the Minister of Education. More information
Resources
Membership fees as well as public and private funding (including various Erasmus+ projects). The team is currently composed of three people (director, communication and project manager, project officer).

Evidence of effectiveness of the measure
As of September 2019: 39 Second Chance Schools in 8 regions, representing 7763 young people (32% are women) and 789 professionals. The Association has 38 members and is currently working to gather and publish detailed indicators of the impact E2O have in Spain.

Main success factors:
- An innovative training through flexible and individualized itineraries, including comprehensive support and a special attention to the most vulnerable as well as a priority given to practical experience.
- A certification process at national level led by an independent entity to ensure continuous improvement.
- A national network facilitating the cooperation among all players involved.
