Description
This systematic review examines the factors contributing to youth becoming not in education, employment, or training (NEET). The findings provide an overview of links between NEET status and various demographic, familial, educational, socio-economic, and health-related factors. Gender-specific disparities and evolving trends within distinct demographic cohorts are equally revealed. Findings highlight that being NEET is associated with a higher suicide risk, criminal behaviour, and unemployment experience. Meanwhile, higher levels of educational attainment act as a protective factor.
