Description
The 2026 European Commission guidelines on teaching informatics, addressed to teachers and educators, aim at preparing young people for the digital world. They provide teachers with practical guidance, ready-to-use classroom examples, and clear quality criteria, to help them integrate, use, and teach informatics and digital technologies in the classroom.
The guidelines tackle all four growing domains of informatics:
- artificial intelligence (AI),
- tackling disinformation,
- high-quality informatics, and
- digital education content.
The guidelines also promote ethical AI and data use, boost digital and media literacy, and guide teachers on how to choose the best digital education content for their classroom lessons.
