This European Commission report reveals how the EU’s cohesion funds, namely the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+), the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), as well as the Just Transition Fund (JTF) are investing in skills development. This overview report breaks down the share of planned funding for education, training, and skills, across relevant investment priorities, programmes, and Member States. Moreover, the report highlights which types of activities and target groups are set out to benefit from these investments. Though not including initial education, the report does include vocational education and training (VET)
In view of young people not in employment, education or training (NEETs), the report reveals that twenty-three Member States target young people in NEET situations. A total of 15 Member States mention the ALMA initiative in their programmes.
