This section is dedicated to VET’s contribution to developing the European Education Area, which is one of the key priorities of the post-2020 policy cycle. The level of internalization of VET is accounted by the percentage of learners in IVET who benefited from a learning mobility abroad and complemented by the average number of foreign languages learned in IVET.
The progress indicator Learners in VET who benefited from a learning mobility abroad (%) accounts for the share of mobile IVET learners in a calendar year. This is expressed as a percentage of an annual cohort of IVET graduates. Mobility is a period of at least 10 days. IVET at ISCED levels 3 and 4 is considered for learners and graduates. Data are provisional estimates and affected by the impact of the COVID-19 pandemics. Estimates are Cedefop calculations based on European Commission methodology, European Commission Erasmus+ data supplied at Cedefop's request, as well as Eurostat data, UOE data collection on formal education. Due to the transition between the old and new programme, certain variables enabling country level data are absent, therefore country level data will not be published for the reference year 2022.
