The main aim of the event is to identify ways to share, transfer and mainstream results, notably from the European Union education, training and youth programmes, in order to inform EU and domestic policy-making and practice. The event will raise awareness of the need to demonstrate this approach (known in EU circles as valorisation) in the EU's new lifelong learning and youth programmes (2007-13). The participants' views, case studies from EU funded projects and an exhibition at the event will be contribute to the European Commissions future work on valorisation.

The event is for people from across Europe (including non-members of the European Union), in particular:

  • organisations with experience of EU-funded education and training programmes;
  • policy makers in national and regional governments or in education and training-related organizations who are keen to learn from these experiences to improve their own policies and programmes;
  • national agencies who administer the EC programmes such as Leonardo, Socrates, Youth, EQUAL and ESF.
