Care workers typically provide care, supervision and assistance for children, patients and elderly, convalescent or disabled in an institutional or residential setting. Those in health services assist patients in mobility, washing and other personal needs. As for personal child care workers and teachers’ aides they deal with supervision and active participation in enhancing the children physical, emotional and intellectual development both in schools and preschools. In case of concerns, they have also to report to appropriate medical or social service workers. They usually need completed first-stage of secondary education but in some instances they need the second-stage of secondary education, e.g. specialised vocational education and training.
