The Conference on Partnering for Knowledge: Policies of Higher Education Reform is held under the patronage of the League of Arab States, within the framework of The 5th International Convention on Higher Education, Training & Recruitment ACADEMIA EGYPT 2005, from 7 to 9 December 2005, at Intercontinental Semiramis Hotel, Cairo, Egypt.

In concurrence with the conventions mission of integrating the regional education market in an increasingly challenging global environment; and contributing to building a knowledge society in the Arab World, ACADEMIA conference programs aims at creating a forum for debate amongst stakeholders and key people in higher education from the region and internationally to procure support for educational development policies, form networks between experts, create cooperation opportunities, address an integrated agenda of issues on higher education, highlight new initiatives and projects, present models and case studies and disseminate knowledge widely to a professional audience as well as the public, capitalizing on the mass exposure of the event.

The conference agenda attempts to establish the stakeholders dialogue to discern the best means for education reform policy formulation and implementation to aid the regions development agenda through tackling the main axioms of current international reform policy approaches.

In addition, and building upon Global Consultants work of the previous edition on Quality Assurance in Higher Education, supported by UNESCO, ALECSO, UNDP, British Council, CHEA-USA, ALECSO and the HEEP and QAAP of the Ministry of Higher Education in Egypt; the conference this year will officially declare the establishment of the Arab Council on Quality Assurance in Education (ACQAE).

 The Conference will also feature a special opening session for Arab Ministers of Education to report on the Status of Higher Education Development in the Arab World, with the aim of raising public awareness about the Arab governments objectives and achievements in reforming their higher education systems; and involving experts, academicians, civil society and the private sector in the development process.
