Their jobs involve, for example: constructing and repairing foundations, walls and structures of brick, stone and similar materials; cutting, shaping and finishing stone for building, ornamental and other purposes, as well as wooden structures and fittings; and general building maintenance tasks. Occupations include, amongst others, house builders, stonemasons, carpenters and joiners, roofers, plasterers, plumbers, floor layers and tile setters, glaziers, and painters. Typically the skill level required is equivalent to completed first stage of secondary education, but in some jobs, completion of the second stage of secondary education that includes specialized vocational education and on-the-job training is required.
