Description
This transnational report relates to the Cowork4YOUTH project which aims to enhance knowledge on youth employment policies in less developed regions of the European Union. The project's key findings reveal that youth employment trends have fluctuated due to the Great Recession and COVID-19 pandemic. The green economy has the potential to create jobs, but requires specific skills and training, while remote working and co-working spaces provide opportunities for digital and entrepreneurial skills development. The analysis, based on data from 28 EU countries, identifies positive determinants of youth employment, including tertiary education, regional participation rates, and GDP per capita, and negative determinants, such as employment in 'brown' sectors (mining and quarrying) and job polarisation.
