Assessing the impact of the Youth Employment Initiative in European regions

This article assesses the impact of the Youth Employment Initiative (YEI), a major EU funding instrument targeting young people not in employment, education or training (NEETs), across European regions.

Using regional-level data, it examines the effects of YEI support on youth employment, unemployment, NEET rates and participation in education and training. The findings provide evidence on how large-scale policy interventions can support young people’s labour market integration and re-engagement with learning.
