Description
This study is a systematic literature review that explores the influence of mental health on the likelihood of becoming not in employment, education, or training (NEET) among young people in Europe. The review analysed 41 studies involving a total of 8,914,123 participants and found a strong association between mental health issues, such as attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), autism, depression, borderline personality disorder, and psychosis, and the risk of becoming NEET. It also emphasises the need for policymakers to prioritise mental health in schools and implement early intervention programmes to support young people with mental health challenges.
