Description
The European Foundation for the Improvement of Living and Working Conditions (Eurofound) published its latest report on youth in 2024. The report provides a snapshot of young people’s situation in today’s Europe, focusing on educational and career paths, housing circumstances and family situation. Some of this report’s main findings also shed light on the situation of young people not in employment, education or training (NEET). Though the NEET rate is currently at a historically low level and the reinforced Youth Guarantee seems is positively assessed, concerns over regional disparities and prevailing high NEET rates in some Southern EU countries persist. Another important finding reveals the gender dimension of the NEET phenomena, since in many EU countries young mothers are more likely to become NEET than young man without family responsibilities.
