Comment
- The Diploma Supplement is issued by the higher education institution awarding the original diploma or degree according to standards agreed by the Commission, the Council of Europe and (UNESCO. It is also part of the Europass framework;
- it contains eight sections providing the following information:
- holder of the qualification;
- qualification type and its originating institution;
- qualification level;
- content of the course and results gained;
- function of the qualification;
- certification;
- description of the national higher education system;
- other relevant details;
- the Diploma Supplement is not:
- a substitute for the original diploma or degree;
- an automatic system that guarantees recognition.
